Shanti Atkins

President & CEO

Shanti Atkins is the President & CEO of ELT. A former employment attorney with Littler, she joined ELT when it first began producing online courseware in 1999. Shanti has been an innovator in the legal training industry for more than a decade, designing powerful compliance solutions for employers that maximize legal defenses while creating a culture of ethics, inclusion and respect.

Under Shanti’s leadership, ELT has grown to become a dominant player in its field, now servicing more than 2,000 employers around the world, and training more than 5,000,000 employees. In addition to overseeing ELT’s product and business development, Shanti advises ELT clients regarding strategic risk management initiatives and workplace compliance. Specializing in harassment and discrimination prevention, workplace ethics initiatives, and wage and hour compliance, Shanti’s core expertise is uniquely focused on employers’ greatest risk areas.

Well-known in the legal, ethics and HR communities, Shanti has been a featured expert for a wide variety of media outlets and publishers, including Fox News, CNN, Fortune Magazine, CNET, MSNBC, CNBC, MarketWatch, HR Magazine, The San Francisco Chronicle, The LA Times, Diversity Executive and Chief Learning Officer. Shanti is also a frequent lecturer and writer for several legal and HR associations, and hosts regular webcasts on legal compliance issues that consistently draw several thousand participants.

Shanti received her Masters of Law (LL.M.) from Harvard University, specializing in alternative dispute resolution (ADR) and corporate risk management. At Harvard she was a Viscount Bennett Fellow and served on the Harvard Negotiation Law Review. Shanti received her J.D. from Queen’s University (Canada) and her B.A. (Film) from Queen’s University (Canada) where she was a Queen’s National Scholar.
